You might be surprised to know that, by choosing the right features when [designing a bathroom remodel](https://southshoredreambath.com/design-center/), you can create your own luxury shower experience. In today’s post, your local bathroom remodeler South Shore Dream Bath shares the features of a luxury shower. ![How to Create a Luxurious Shower Experience](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png) ## **Steamy Shower** You can start a spa-like experience with a steamy shower. In addition to a properly-working water heater, you need a shower enclosure that can trap steam. This takes curbless or open showers out of the equation. Letting the steam spread to the other parts of the bathroom would use up too much hot water, and may damage bathroom decor and the ceiling. You will also want to let the steam ## **Dim Lighting** Lighting is a key element of relaxing bathing experience. Candlelight is one of the most common ways to achieve an authentic spa experience. Many people prefer to use scented candles to further enhance the experience. You can have small shelves or recesses in the shower wall where you can place candles, though they have to be placed so that it won’t damage the tile or cause soot stains. Additional shelving and other minor changes to existing bathrooms can be done within a day, which is perfect if you’re looking into changes with low [bathroom renovation cost](https://southshoredreambath.com/specials/). Alternatives to candlelight, such as LED with dimmer controls, can also be finished in as short as one day. ## **Skin Care Products** There are various skincare products that can exfoliate without having to soak in a bathtub. Keep such products handy without having to crack the shower enclosure open by keeping them in a caddy. You may also want to keep after-shower products such as essential oils handy. And lastly, you’ll want to invest in a quality bathrobe, one that you’ll be comfortable wearing for extended hours. After all, you’ll probably want to go straight to bed and relax after pampering yourself in the shower.
