--- title: The Biggest Myths About Bathroom Remodeling description: Do bathtub remodeling companies take weeks to finish remodeling? South Shore Dream Bath debunks common myths about bathroom remodeling. image: https://southshoredreambath.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/the-biggest-myths-about-bathroom-remodeling-1.jpg --- Blog # The Biggest Myths About Bathroom Remodeling November 16, 2020 by [Stephen Ryan](https://southshoredreambath.com/blog/author/stephen-ryan) Bathroom remodeling can be a complicated process, which can be the reason why myths about it persist in many circles. In today’s post, the local [contractors for bathroom remodel](https://southshoredreambath.com/) at South Shore Dream Bath debunk the biggest bathroom remodeling myths. ![The Biggest Myths About Bathroom Remodeling](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png) ## **Bathroom Remodeling Takes a Long Time** Bathroom remodeling usually takes longer than other types of home remodeling, but it’s not as exaggerated as taking several weeks to finish. One of the advantages of working with dedicated bathroom remodelers like us is we have full control over the remodeling process. A bathroom remodel, from concept to completion, can take as much as a couple of weeks at most. ## **You Can Save Money With DIY** You have probably come across online videos and articles about DIYers telling homeowners that they can eschew the [bathroom remodel estimate](https://southshoredreambath.com/contact-us/) and save money by buying the materials themselves and their own bathroom remodeling.. What these DIYers fail to mention is that a lot of things go into bathroom remodeling than buying materials. Bathroom remodeling is not a weekend-only project; you have to commit to it full time. Otherwise, the project could take weeks or even months to finish. Additionally, you’ll also have to apply for the necessary permits, hire licensed electricians and plumbers, and make sure your insurance has coverage for accidental property damage. You’ll also have to buy tools like rotary tile cutters, along with safety equipment, that you probably won’t use after. Considering all of these factors, you’re not really saving any money with DIY, and you’d be wasting that quality time with your family. ## **You Have to Have a Big Budget** As with most major home improvements, bathroom remodeling costs money. But you don’t have to have a big budget to get it done. The key is in planning your project thoroughly and not going for whatever is trending at the moment. Set your budget at the beginning, and, if you ever hit a roadblock, bathroom remodeling consultants like us can help you get your project back on track.
